What is article-level news analysis?
Article-level news analysis is the structured examination of how one news article is constructed: which sources it uses, how its language operates, how perspectives are arranged, what context is present or absent, and which narrative frame organizes the story.

Source Architecture
Examines who is cited, how claims are attributed, whether sources are named, and how source types and perspectives are distributed.
It does not independently confirm that a source or attributed claim is correct.
Language Register
Examines loaded or emotional wording, certainty and speculation, labels, and other language choices that may shape interpretation.
Charged language is a signal to inspect, not proof of deception or political intent.
Structural Balance
Examines how viewpoints, evidence, rebuttals, and article space are ordered and distributed within the article.
Balance does not require false equivalence or equal space for every possible position.
Contextual Completeness
Examines whether the article supplies relevant baselines, history, caveats, counterarguments, and context needed to evaluate its central claims.
No finite article can contain every relevant fact; identified gaps are candidate omissions for review.
Narrative Frame
Examines how the article defines the problem, assigns cause or responsibility, selects protagonists, and implies consequences or remedies.
All communication involves framing. A detected frame is not automatically improper or biased.
